Rabeprazole 10/20mg

Rabeprazole is a proton pump inhibitor which suppresses gastric acid secretion.

Usage

Rabeprazole is used to treat:

• duodenal ulcers
• erosive or ulcerative gastroesophageal reflux disease
• heartburn
• in combination with amoxicillin and clarithromycin to eradicate Helicobacter pylori

Drug interactions

Rabeprazole may interact with such drugs, as:

• aminoglutethimide,
• carbamazepine,
• phenytoin,
• rifampin,
• citalopram,
• diazepam,
• phenytoin,
• propranolol,
• Itraconazole and ketoconazole
• Protease inhibitors

Rabeprazole possible side effects

• diarrhea
• vomiting
• nausea
• abdominal pains
• constipation
• meteorism
• dry mouth
• increased or decreased appetite
• asthenia
• headache

Rabeprazole and pregnancy / lactation

Use during pregnancy only if clearly needed.

Do not use during breast-feeding.

What is the shelf life of the pills?

• The expiry date is mentioned on each blister. It is different for different batches. The shelf life is 2 years from the date of manufacture and would differ from batch to batch depending on when they were manufactured.
