Generic Amoxil

Amoxycillin 250/500mg

Amoxicillin is a bacteriolytic B-lactam antibiotic against a wide range of Gram-positive, and a limited range of Gram-negative organisms. Amoxicillin inhibits the synthesis of bacterial cell walls.

Amoxicillin may be combined with clavulanic acid. This combination is very active against a very broad array of Gram-positive, Gram-negative, and anaerobic organisms.

Usage.

Amoxycillinis used to treat infections:

• tonsillitis,
• pneumonia,
• otitis,
• bronchitis,
• urinary tract infections,
• infections of the skin,
• sinusitis,

Drug interactions.

Amoxycillin may interact with:

• Allopurinol
• Aminoglycosides
• Methotrexate
• Oral contraceptives
• Probenecid

• anxiety,
• insomnia
• tooth discoloration

• The expiry date is mentioned on each blister. It is different for different batches. The shelf life is 2 years from the date of manufacture and would differ from batch to batch depending on when they were manufactured.
