Sulfasalazine is a sulfa drug, a derivative of Mesalazine
which acts locally in the colon to decrease the inflammatory response and inhibits
prostaglandin synthesis.
Usage
Sulfasalazine is used to treat:
- inflammatory bowel disease
- rheumatoid arthritis
- ulcerative colitis
