Verapamil 40/80/120/240mg
Verapamil is an L-type calcium channel blocker. It leads to
relaxation of coronary vascular smooth muscle and coronary vasodilation; increases
myocardial oxygen delivery in patients with vasospastic angina.
Usage.
Verapamil is used to treat:
- hypertension,
- angina pectoris,
- cardiac arrhythmia
Drug interactions.
Verapamil may interact with such drugs, as:
- blood pressure medications
- Monoamine oxidase inhibitors
- Potassium salts or potassium supplements
- Lithium
- Mercaptopurine
- NSAIDs
- Potassium-sparing diuretics
- Trimethoprim (high dose)
Verapamil possible side effects.

Verapamil and pregnancy / lactation.
Use in pregnancy only when clearly needed and when the benefits
