Diltiazem 30/60/90/120/180mg

Diltiazem is a calcium channel blocker which inhibits calcium ion from entering the "slow channels" of vascular smooth muscle and myocardium and leads to its relaxation. It is a vasodilator, which increases blood flow and decreases the heart rate.

Usage

Diltiazem is used to treat:

  • hypertension,
  • angina pectoris,
  • arrhythmia ,
  • paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia

Drug interactions

Diltiazem may interact with such drugs, as:

  • Amiodarone
  • Azole antifungals
  • Benzodiazepines
  • Beta-blockers
  • Buspirone
  • Calcium
  • Cimetidine
  • Digoxin
  • HMG-CoA reductase inhibitors (atorvastatin, lovastatin, simvastatin)
  • Lithium
  • Nafcillin
  • Nitroprusside
  • Quinidine
