Citalopram is an antidepressant drug which belongs to the class of selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs). It inhibits serotonin reuptake in the presynaptic neurons.

Usage.

Citalopram is used to treat:

• major depression
• mood disorders

Citalopram possible side effects.

• insomnia
• nausea,
• diaphoresis,
• rash, pruritus,
• weight lost,
• diarrhea,
• drowsiness,
• anxiety

Citalopram and pregnancy / lactation.

Use during pregnancy only if the potential benefit to the mother outweighs the possible risk to the fetus.

Do not use during breast-feeding.

What is the shelf life of the pills?

• The expiry date is mentioned on each blister. It is different for different batches. The shelf life is 2 years from the date of manufacture and would differ from batch to batch depending on when they were manufactured.
