Clarinex - is the medicine with the main substance - Desloratadine.

Desloratadine is a tricyclic antihistamine whith H1-antagonist action, which blockes the action of histamine. It has a long-lasting effect and does not cause drowsiness.

What is the medicine clarinex used for?

Clarinex is used to treat allergies. It prevents sneezing, runny nose, itching and watering of the eyes, and other allergic symptoms.

Clarinex (Desloratadine) usage.

In general:

• once a day for 24-hour relief from the symptoms
• with or without food
• at the same time each day.

Dosage.

5 mg tabletes - adults and children 12 years and older, once-a-day.

Clarinex - D 12 Hour - patients 12 years and older, twice a day, antihistamine/decongestant .

Clarinex - D 24 Hour - patients 12 years and older, twice a day, antihistamine/decongestant.

Clarinex Reditabs - once daily, with "tutti frutti" flavor; 2.5 mg dose - for patients 6 years and older, 5 mg dose - for patients 12 years and olde.r

Clarines Syrup - for kids as young as 6 months for the treatment of indoor allergy symptoms, kids as young as 2 years - outdoor allergy symptoms.

Clarinex possible side effects.

Clarinex and other drugs.

Medicines, which can change the efficiency of Clarinex:

• Erythromycin
• Ketoconazole
• Azithromycin
• Fluoxetine
• Cimetidine

Clarinex and pregnancy (nursing).

Clarinex (desloratadine) should be used during pregnancy only if clearly needed.

It passes into breast milk; so taking this medicine is not likely.

What is the shelf life of the pills?
