Clomiphene citrate 25/50/100mg

Clomifene is a selective estrogen receptor modulator which increases the chance of getting pregnant. It inhibits the action of estrogen on the gonadotrope cells in the anterior pituitary gland. As a result, the body releases more gonadotropin-releasing hormone from the hypothalamus, which drives the pituitary secretion of follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), leading to a higher rate of ovulation and raizes the chance of pregnancy.

Usage

Clomiphene is used to treat:

• infertility
• anovulation

Drug interactions

Clomiphene may interact with such drugs, as:

• Aluminum- and magnesium-containing antacids
• Antidiabetic agents
• Cholestyramine and colestipol
• Digoxin
• Estrogens
• Iron
• Theophylline, caffeine
• Tricyclic and tetracyclic antidepressants
• Warfarin

Clomid possible side effects

• nausea and vomiting
• pelvic pain or bloating
• sudden shortness of breath
• changes in vision - blurred vision, seeing double, eye sensitivity to bright light

Clomid and pregnancy / lactation

Do not use during pregnancy and breast-feeding.

What is the shelf life of the pills?

• The expiry date is mentioned on each blister. It is different for different batches. The shelf life is 2 years from the date of manufacture and would differ from batch to batch depending on when they were manufactured.
