Trazodone 25/50/100mg

Trazodone is a psychoactive compound with sedative, anxiolytic, and antidepressant properties. It inhibits reuptake of serotonin, causes adrenoreceptor subsensitivity, and induces significant changes in 5-HT presynaptic receptor adrenoreceptors. Trazodone also significantly blocks histamine (H1) and alpha1-adrenergic receptors.

Usage.

Trazodone is used to treat:

• depression
• chronic insomnia
  

Drug interactions.

Trazodone may interact with such drugs, as:

• inhibitors of enzyme CYP3A4 (ketoconazole)
• inducers of enzyme CYP3A4 (carbamazepine)
  

Trazodone possible side effects.

• Dizziness,
• headache,
• Blurred vision
• nausea, vomiting

Trazodone and pregnancy / lactation.

Avoid use in pregnancy.

Do not take this medication if you are breast-feeding a baby.

• The expiry date is mentioned on each blister. It is different for different batches. The shelf life is 2 years from the date of manufacture and would differ from batch to batch depending on when they were manufactured.
