Ziprasidone 20/40/60/80mg

Ziprasidone is an atypical antipsychotic, which has a high affinity for dopamine, serotonin and alpha-adrenergic receptors. Ziprasidone moderately inhibits the reuptake of serotonin and norepinephrine.

Usage.

Ziprasidone is used to treat:

• schizophrenia;
• bipolar disorder
  

Drug interactions.

Ziprasidone may interact with such drugs, as:

• amphetamine
• carbamazepine
• CNS depressants
• ketoconazole
• levodopa
• QTc-prolonging agents

Ziprasidone possible side effects.

• QTc prolongation
• dizziness,
• headache,
• nausea, vomiting

Ziprasidone and pregnancy / lactation.

Use during pregnancy only if the potential benefit to the mother outweighs the possible risk to the fetus.

Do not take this medication if you are breast-feeding a baby.

What is the shelf life of the pills?

• The expiry date is mentioned on each blister. It is different for different batches. The shelf life is 2 years from the date of manufacture and would differ from batch to batch depending on when they were manufactured.
