Sumatriptan 25/50mg

Sumatriptan is a triptan drug, a selective agonist for serotonin (5-HT1D receptor) which causes vasoconstriction and reduces inflammation.

Usage

Sumatriptan is used to treat:

• migraine with or without aura

Drug interactions

Sumatriptan may interact with such drugs, as:

• Ergot-containing drugs
• MAO inhibitors (
• Selegiline
• SSRIs

Sumatriptan possible side effects

• dizziness
• warm/hot sensation
• pain at injection site
• chest pain
• hyper-/hypotension
• burning
• flushing
• drowsiness
• headache
• cold sensation
• anxiety
• abdominal discomfort
• weakness
• muscle cramps

Sumatriptan and pregnancy / lactation

Use during pregnancy and breast-feeding with caution and only after you have visited your doctor.

What is the shelf life of the pills?

• The expiry date is mentioned on each blister. It is different for different batches. The shelf life is 2 years from the date of manufacture and would differ from batch to batch depending on when they were manufactured.
