Isosorbide dinitrate is a nitrate used as a vasodilator. It relaxes blood vessels, increasing the blood and oxygen supply to your heart. It is effective in the long-term treatment of angina associated with coronary artery disease.

Usage

Isosorbide dinitrate is used to treat:

Isosorbide dinitrate may interact with such drugs, as:

• aminoglutethimide,
• carbamazepine,
• nafcillin,
• nevirapine,
• phenobarbital,
• phenytoin,
• Sildenafil, tadalafil, vardenafil

Isosorbide dinitrate possible side effects

• hypotension
• dizziness,
• fatigue,
• headache
• insomnia,
• poor coordination,
• peripheral neuropathy,
• photosensitivity
• hypothyroidism
• nausea, vomiting,
• anorexia

Isosorbide dinitrate and pregnancy / lactation

Don't use during pregnancy and breast-feeding.
