Terbinafine Hydrochloride 250 mg

Terbinafine hydrochloride is a synthetic allylamine antifungal, which inhibits ergosterol synthesis and to changes cell membrane permeability. So it leads to fungicell death.

Usage.

Terbinafine is used to treat:

• skin infections such as jock itch , athlete's foot
• onychomycosis
  

Drug interactions.

Terbinafine may interact with such drugs, as:

• beta-blockers,
• MAO inhibitors,
• tricyclic antidepressants
• codeine
• Rifampin
  

Lamisil (Terbinafine) possible side effects.

• Dizziness,
• headache,
• fever,
• nausea, vomiting
• an allergic reaction
• Liver enzymes increased
• rash
• Visual disturbance
  

Lamisil and pregnancy / lactation.

Avoid use in pregnancy since treatment of onychomycosis is postponable.

Do not take this medication if you are breast-feeding a baby.

What is the shelf life of the pills?

• The expiry date is mentioned on each blister. It is different for different batches. The shelf life is 2 years from the date of manufacture and would differ from batch to batch depending on when they were manufactured.
