Rizatriptan 5/10mg

Rizatriptan is a triptan drug, a selective agonist for serotonin (5-HT1D receptor) in cranial arteries which causes vasoconstriction and reduces inflammation associated with migraine.

Usage

Rizatriptan is used to treat:

• migraine

Drug interactions

Rizatriptan may interact with such drugs, as:

• selective 5-HT1 agonist
• ergot-containing drug
• MAO inhibitors
• Propranolol
• Tricyclic antidepressants

Rizatriptan possible side effects

• blood pressure increases
• chest pain
• drowsiness
• skin flushing
• hot flashes
• nausea,
• abdominal pain,
• dry mouth
• dyspnea

Use during pregnancy and lactation with caution, after visiting your doctor.

What is the shelf life of the pills?

• The expiry date is mentioned on each blister. It is different for different batches. The shelf life is 2 years from the date of manufacture and would differ from batch to batch depending on when they were manufactured.
