Meloxicam 7.5/15mg
Meloxicam is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug, which
inhibits COX 2 more than COX 1.
The result of this inhibition is decreased formation of prostaglandin
precursors and reduction of inflammatory process.
Meloxicam has a long half-life which permits once-day dosing.
Usage.
Meloxicam is used to treat:
- osteoarthritis,
- rheumatoid arthritis,
- dysmenorrhea (menstrual cramps)
- fever and pain
Drug interactions.
Meloxicam may interact with such drugs, as:
- Angiotensin II antagonists
- Anticoagulants
- Antiplatelet drugs (ticlopidine, clopidogrel, aspirin, abciximab, dipyridamole,
eptifibatide, tirofiban)
- Cholestyramine
- Corticosteroids
- Cyclosporine
- Lithium
- Loop diuretic's
- Methotrexate
- Thiazide diuretics
Meloxicam possible side effects.

- Insomnia
- Skin rash
- Dyspepsia
- Edema
