Ibuprofen 400/600mg
Ibuprofen is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug, which
inhibits both COX-1 and COX-2. It appears that its analgesic, antipyretic, and
anti-inflammatory activity are achieved more through COX-2 inhibition.
The result of this inhibition is decreased formation of prostaglandin
precursors and reduction of inflammatory process.
Usage.
Ibuprofen is used to treat:
- osteoarthritis,
- rheumatoid arthritis,
- dysmenorrhea (menstrual cramps)
- fever and pain
Drug interactions.
Ibuprofen may interact with such drugs, as:
- Angiotensin II antagonists
- Anticoagulants
- Antiplatelet drugs (ticlopidine, clopidogrel, aspirin, abciximab, dipyridamole,
eptifibatide, tirofiban)
- Cholestyramine
- Corticosteroids
- Cyclosporine
- Lithium
- Loop diuretic's
- Methotrexate
- Thiazide diuretics
