Pain is a signal from our body that something is not right.

Pain may be treated pharmacologicaly (analgesics such as narcotics or NSAIDs and pain modifiers such as tricyclic antidepressants or anticonvulsants), non-pharmacologicaly (interventional procedures, physical therapy and physical exercise, application of ice and/or heat), and psychologicaly (biofeedback and cognitive therapy).

Most types of physical pain can be treated with pain relievers (analgesics). Specific types of pain may respond better to one kind of medication than to another kind.
