Bromocriptine 2.5mg

Bromocriptine is a dopamine agonist which activates postsynaptic dopamine receptors in the tuberoinfundibular and nigrostriatal pathways. It blocks the release of a hormone called prolactin that affects the menstrual cycle and breast milk production.

Usage

Bromocriptine is used for:

• pituitary tumors
• Parkinson's disease.

Bromocriptine may interact with such drugs, as:

• Antifungals
• Antipsychotics
• Macrolide antibiotics
• MAO inhibitors
• Metoclopramide
• Protease inhibitors
• Serotonin agonists
• Sibutramine

Bromocriptine possible side effects

• headache,
• dizziness
• nausea
• orthostatic hypotension
• drowsiness
• anorexia,
• vomiting,
• abdominal cramps,
• nasal congestion

Bromocriptine and pregnancy / lactation

Do not use during pregnancy and breast-feeding.

What is the shelf life of the pills?

• The expiry date is mentioned on each blister. It is different for different batches. The shelf life is 2 years from the date of manufacture and would differ from batch to batch depending on when they were manufactured.
