Dipyridamole 100mg

Dipyridamole is a drug which inhibits the cellular reuptake of adenosine into plateletsand so causes an accumulation of mediators which inhibit platelet aggregation and may cause vasodilation.

Usage

Dipyridamole is used to treat:

• angina pectoris
• hypertension
• treatment of heart failure
• migraine prophylaxis

Drug interactions

Dipyridamole may interact with such drugs, as:

• Adenosine
• Cholinesterase inhibitors
• Xanthine derivatives (eg, theophylline)

Dipyridamole possible side effects

• exacerbation of angina pectoris
• dizziness
• headache
• hypotension
• blood pressure lability
• flushing
• fatigue
• nausea
• paresthesia

Dipyridamole and pregnancy / lactation

Use during pregnancy and breast-feeding with caution.

What is the shelf life of the pills?

• The expiry date is mentioned on each blister. It is different for different batches. The shelf life is 2 years from the date of manufacture and would differ from batch to batch depending on when they were manufactured.
