Cilostazol 50/100mg

Cilostazol is a selective cAMP phosphodiesterase inhibitor which inhibits platelet aggregation and causes arterial vasodilation. Its main effects are dilation of the arteries supplying blood to the legs and decreasing platelet coagulation.

Usage

Cilostazol is used to treat:

• peripheral vascular disease,
• primarily intermittent claudication;
• acute coronary syndromes

Drug interactions

Cilostazol may interact with such drugs, as:

• clarithromycin,
• erythromycin,
• itraconazole,
• fluconazole,
• fluoxetine,
• nefazodone,
• sertraline,
• diltiazem

Cilostazol possible side effects

• headache
• diarrhea
• peripheral edema
• tachycardia
• dizziness
• nausea
• abdominal pain
• back pain
• rhinitis
• pharyngitis

Cilostazol and pregnancy / lactation

Do not use during pregnancy and breast-feeding.

What is the shelf life of the pills?

• The expiry date is mentioned on each blister. It is different for different batches. The shelf life is 2 years from the date of manufacture and would differ from batch to batch depending on when they were manufactured.
