Nateglinide 120mg

Nateglinide is a nonsulfonylurea hypoglycemic agent of the meglitinide class which stimulates insulin release from the pancreatic beta cells.

Usage

Nateglinide is used to treat:

• diabetes mellitus type 2
  

Drug interactions

Nateglinide may interact with such drugs, as:

• barbiturates like phenobarbital or primidone
• carbamazepine
• erythromycin
• ketoconazole
• miconazole
• montelukast
• other medicines for diabetes
• rifampin
• oral contraceptives
• estrogens

Nateglinide possible side effects.

• serum triglycerides decreased,
• weight gain ,
• upper respiratory tract infection
• edema
• headache
• fatigue
• hypoglycemia
• anemia
• myalgia

Nateglinide and pregnancy / lactation

Use during pregnancy only if clearly needed.

Do not use during breast-feeding.

What is the shelf life of the pills?

• The expiry date is mentioned on each blister. It is different for different batches. The shelf life is 2 years from the date of manufacture and would differ from batch to batch depending on when they were manufactured.
