Fenofibrate 200mg
Fenofibrate is a drug of the fibrate class. It increases cholesterol
catabolism by enhancing the synthesis of lipoprotein lipase; this results in
decrease of cholesterol levels.
Usage
Fenofibrate is used to treat:
- dyslipidemia,
- hypercholesterolemia
- hypertriglyceridemia
- prevention of CVD
Drug interactions
Fenofibrate may interact with such drugs, as:
- Ezetimibe
- HMG-CoA reductase inhibitors (atorvastatin, fluvastatin, lovastatin, pravastatin,
rosuvastatin, simvastatin)
- Sulfonylureas
- Warfarin
Fenofibrate possible side effects
- abdominal pain
- constipation
- ALT increased
- back pain
- rhinitis
Fenofibrate and pregnancy / lactation
