Bupropion 150mg

Bupropion is an atypical antidepressant, which inhibits norepinephrine and dopamine reuptake. It is also a nicotinic antagonist. Bupropion is effective as a smoking cessation aid. Bupropion acts differently from other antidepressants and may be used for treating patients who have unusual or limiting effects from other antidepressants.

Usage.

Bupropion is used to treat:

• major depression
• obsessive-compulsive
• adjunct in smoking cessation
  

Drug interactions.

Bupropion may interact with such drugs, as:

• Amantadine
• Cimetidine
• Levodopa
• MAO inhibitors
• Nicotine
• Selegiline
• Tricyclic antidepressants
• Warfarin

Bupropion possible side effects.

• drowsiness,
• headache,
• somnolence,
• dizziness,
• nausea,
• diarrhea
• libido decreased
• suicidal ideation (thoughts of suicide),
• pharyngitis

   

Bupropion and pregnancy / lactation.

Use during pregnancy only if the potential benefit to the mother outweighs the possible risk to the fetus.

Do not use during breast-feeding.

What is the shelf life of the pills?

• The expiry date is mentioned on each blister. It is different for different batches. The shelf life is 2 years from the date of manufacture and would differ from batch to batch depending on when they were manufactured.
